My name is Savanna. I'm 24 and I live near Grand Rapids, Michigan with my husband (Hubby G) and our mischievous little pup, Colby.
I've always wanted to run a marathon. I ran in a 10 mile race back in 2005, but I haven't entered any races since then. I enjoy running, but prior to beginning this marathon training, I was not running consistently and I hadn't run more than about 6 miles at one time in over a year.
My goal is to run in and complete the Grand Rapids Marathon on October 17th, 2010. I've chosen to follow the 18-week Novice Training Program laid out by Hal Higdon, meaning that I began my first official day of marathon training on Monday, June 14th.
I decided to keep this blog as a record of my training progress, share my experience with others, and hopefully interact with other runners- both experienced and new. So feel free to comment, ask questions, and give suggestions! And let me know if you'll also be at the start line at the GR Marathon!
